Find My Child is the world’s first global alerting service and smartphone application designed to help reunite parents and lost children quickly and safely should they become separated.

All parents’ biggest fear is losing their child, it happens more often than anyone wants to admit. Nearly every parent you know will have one horror story about a separation and thankfully they almost certainly have a happy ending.

They will tell you how they turned into a headless chicken and instantly assumed they were lost or even worse … In reality, statistics show overwhelmingly that they are not lost! They are simply temporarily separated. Version 2.0 released

We’re delighted to announce that version 2.0 of the Find My Child app has just hit the Apple Store.

This version now has a test mode to enable you to show your friends and family how the service works. This test mode operates in conjunction with the network builder which you can learn more about here.

The other neat thing about being able to build your own network of helpers is that they will always be alerted in the event of an incident regardless of where they might be at the time.

We’re all familiar with the power of social networks. What started off as cool ways of keeping in touch with family and friends has matured into people powered networks capable of changing the world. Whether it’s MPs’ Expenses, the Arab Spring or the downfall of Media Empires, social networks are increasingly the way by which ordinary people can both voice their concerns, coordinate their actions or simply be alerted to rapidly changing developments.

This got us thinking.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could harness the incredible power of the social network and put it to work in the real world, so that people can help each other out in times of need.
